[Chapter I - Rift Valley]Rift Valley is most famous for being the main battlefield in which the Spiritualist-Industrialist War was fought. The entire valley is devoid of life and is instead littered with volcanic ash, dead trees and rock formations. Due to its geological position the valley is subject to harsh dust storms and an extreme lack of moisture and oxygen levels. It has been stated that the immense struggle to breathe in the environment actually caused at least 20% of total deaths during the Battle of Rift. Near the centre of the valley is the Master Gate, appropriately called because it acts as the hub for all other Vortex Gates. If the Master Gate ever failed to function or was somehow closed, the aftershock would trigger a chain reaction and deactivate all Vortex Gates in existence. Rift Valley is now a graveyard of soldiers that fought and died in the Battle of Rift. Rumours suggest that the ghosts of the doomed soldiers still wander at night, trapped in the former battlefield for eternity.
[Chapter II - Dreamscape]Rao spiritualists have told stories of another plane of existence, separate from the world of Drakkena. It is believed by the elder spiritualists that Magiaa (Drakkena form of 'Magic') relies on energy drawn from the Dreamscape, otherwise known as 'Soul'. Very little is known about this myserious location and even less is known about its origin. Supposedly anyone can enter the Dreamscape through meditation, a technique used by spiritualists to gain knowledge and to learn how to manipulate Magiaa. The words Garjiaa, Azuriaa and Magiaa are all linked by 'Iaa', a term used to describe anything from the Dreamscape. 'Iaa' is derived from the Azuriaan word for 'eye', which relates to the Dreamscapers (those able to see the Dreamscape and interact with the enivironment). Many spiritualists believe that it is impossible to die in the Dreamscape as it is 'neither real nor unreal'.
